A heavy blow to the Spanish club Barcelona, after the injury of goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen was revealed, which turned out to be a serious injury that will keep him out for the entire season.
According to the Spanish club Barcelona, Marc-Andre ter Stegen is expected to be out of action for a long time, as he will have to undergo surgery due to a “complete tear” in his knee tendon.
Ter Stegen was injured at the end of the first half when he landed badly on his right foot while trying to catch a cross, and was carried on a stretcher off the field after the intervention of the paramedics while he was lying down screaming in pain.
According to information received from the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has offered his services to Barcelona in order to compensate for the German goalkeeper’s long absence from the team.
The newspaper added that Szczesny will arrive as a free player to Barcelona without paying any transfer fees as a free agent after his contract with Juventus expired last summer.
The newspaper indicated that the German coach, Hansi Flick, does not trust the Polish goalkeeper much and believes that he was a major weakness for Juventus in recent years, to the point that he jokingly told one of the members of the technical staff at Barcelona that Lambin Yamal can stop balls better than him.
