PSG Eyes Barcelona’s Top Target, Luis Enrique a Fan

New manager Hansi Flick knows the player well and sees him as the ideal fit into his scheme, while the fact that the 29-year-old’s contract expires in 2025 makes him a potentially feasible signing for Barça.

However, hurdles are expected in Barcelona’s pursuit of Kimmich with his wages likely to be an issue while the interest from other parties makes things difficult too.

PSG eager to sign Kimmich

As has already been reported, Manchester City are rivalling Barcelona in the race to sign Kimmich, with Pep Guardiola an admirer.

Now, though, PSG too have entered the race and are going after the Bayern Munich superstar’s signing with great intent.

Indeed, according to AS, PSG manager Luis Enrique is captivated by Kimmich’s all-round abilities and versatile nature and wants him at the French capital club this summer.

As such, the Ligue 1 champions are now scheming to try and reach an agreement with the player and his entourage before taking things further with Bayern Munich.

Kimmich, for his part, looks destined to leave the Allianz Arena, although any decision on his future will only be made after the UEFA Euro 2024 is over.

But PSG intend to try and finalise an agreement on the player’s side, especially with the likes of Barcelona and other Premier League clubs also interested in signing him.

Barcelona need to act quickly

Even though Barcelona have other options like Amadou Onana and Mikel Merino, Kimmich might be the more affordable signing for them this summer, with reports suggesting that he could be signed for €30-40 million.

Furthermore, the player is familiar with Flick’s methods having played under him at Bayern Munich and the German national team.

As such, Barcelona must act swiftly and take a step so as to ensure that Kimmich does not end up slipping through their hands, especially with PSG now ready to go all guns blazing to sign him.
