Players beat the referee in Africa Confederation Cup

Egyptian referee Mohamed Maarouf was attacked by players of the Libyan club Abu Salim after the fatal third goal scored by RS Berkane in the second leg of the African Confederation Cup quarter-finals.

The match ended with RS Berkane winning 3-2, advancing to the semi-finals to face the Algerian team USM.

In the 13th minute of stoppage time, RS Berkane scored the winning and qualifying goal, and Abu Salim’s players beat and assaulted referee Mohamed Maarouf, as shown in the following video:
