Barcelona’s new coach, Hansi Flick, has asked to sign one of Bayern Munich’s stars in the next summer Mercato.
Press reports had linked Joshua Kimmich, the star midfielder of the Bavarian club, to joining his former coach in the national team and the club, but it seems that Flick is looking forward to another player.
According to the German newspaper “Bild”, “Barcelona’s new coach asked club president Joan Laporta to sign Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman.”
the newspaper explained that “Koeman, whose contract expires in the summer of 2027, enjoys Flick’s trust, as he worked under his leadership between 2019 and 2021 when he was coach of the Bavarian team, Bayern Munich.”
the newspaper pointed out that Flick appreciates Koeman a lot, especially because of his efforts on the defensive side, because Flick wants his more advanced players to put pressure on the opponent’s midfielders and defenders.”
The newspaper added that Flick believes that Koeman is good at playing in all offensive roles and plays with both feet as a left and right winger and an outright striker, so it will give him many options.
Barcelona is facing major challenges and a stifling financial crisis, which complicates its calculations regarding the rules of fair financial play and their implications for next season’s deals.
