Real Madrid seems to have decided to secure themselves in case the signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold fails, as the royal club has chosen a replacement for Dani Carvajal, who will be out for the rest of the season due to injury.
Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is a priority target for Real Madrid next summer, but there is another distinguished player on the royal club’s agenda for the summer transfer market.
According to information from the Spanish newspaper “AS,” Spanish right-back Pedro Porro of Tottenham Hotspur is a strong candidate to move to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The newspaper added that Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti is leaning towards this option, as he believes that the Spanish full-back from Tottenham would be better for Real Madrid than the Liverpool star. Ancelotti justified this by citing Arnold’s offensive tendency, which leaves a lot of spaces at the back and exposes this side of Real Madrid to considerable pressure.
Porro’s speed and flexibility make him capable of adapting to Real Madrid’s style of play, posing a threat to Arnold’s potential move to the club next summer.
The newspaper concluded that the balance Porro provides in both defense and attack makes him a closer fit for Real Madrid than Arnold, who does not receive much support within the royal team.
It is worth noting that there are reports indicating Liverpool’s desire to open negotiations to renew Arnold’s contract, and that the player is open to extending his deal with the Reds.
