Barcelona is aiming to make a strong return to the podium this season, as the team’s impressive start under the leadership of Hansi Flick has ignited the enthusiasm of the Catalan fans, with Barca positioning itself to compete with Europe’s top clubs.
Barcelona currently tops the La Liga table with 33 points after 13 rounds of the competition, six points ahead of rivals Real Madrid, who are in second place, though the royal team still has one postponed match.
In a radio interview with Radio Catalonia, Barcelona legend Lionel Messi praised the work of German coach Hansi Flick, who has restored Barcelona’s usual strength and helped them dominate Europe’s big clubs once again.
Messi expressed his optimism about Barcelona’s current season and stressed his desire to see the club win multiple titles by the end of the campaign.
Messi also acknowledged the remarkable development of several Barcelona players following the arrival of the German coach, particularly Rafinha, Inigo Martinez, and Marc Casado.
When asked about the player he believes should leave Barcelona, Messi responded: “From my point of view, the team needs another player in the wing position to relieve the pressure on Rafinha and Lamine Yamal. I don’t think Ferran Torres is the right player for this task, so his departure and the signing of a better player will be one of the most important decisions Barcelona’s management needs to make as soon as possible.”
Messi concluded his comments by wishing Barcelona continued strength and success, hoping the team will return to the podiums by the end of the season.
