Jurgen Klopp ‘set to raid Barcelona’ for first two signings at Red Bull as former Liverpool boss gets to work

It hasn’t taken Jurgen Klopp long to settle into his new role at Red Bull, with the former Liverpool boss already drawing up a list of transfer targets he wants to sign for the clubs he now oversees.

After departing from Liverpool at the end of last season, Klopp was anticipated to take a break from football for a while. However, by October 9, 2024, the German coach had secured his next position.Watch live soccer online

Klopp will officially begin his new role in the New Year, but he is already focused on potential player acquisitions.

According to journalist Sebastian Vidal, Klopp has his eye on a couple of young players from Barcelona for Red Bull.

Both Aleix Garrido and Noah Darvich are reportedly being monitored by Klopp as he prepares for his new responsibilities, with the Barcelona youngsters seen as ideal fits for the Red Bull organization.

While the duo has mainly played for Barcelona’s B-team, Garrido did make a brief appearance for the first team as a substitute during Xavi’s time at the club.

Garrido’s progress has been affected by a metatarsal fracture he suffered in March, and he has yet to play this season. Nevertheless, at 20 years old, he is regarded as one of the brightest talents in Barcelona’s youth ranks.

Darvich, who was signed from SC Freiburg last summer, has made a strong impression since joining Barcelona. The 18-year-old participated in the club’s pre-season tour but has not yet debuted in a competitive match for the senior team. He captained the Germany Under-17 squad that won both the World Cup and European Championships in 2023.

Red Bull clubs are known for nurturing young talent into top players, with successful examples like Dani Olmo, Erling Haaland, and Josko Gvardiol emerging from the system.

It remains uncertain whether Garrido and Darvich will follow the same path or continue to develop within Barcelona.
