On Sunday, Joao Felix scored the first goal for Barcelona against his old team Atletico Madrid. He celebrated by doing the famous pose that Jude Bellingham is known for.
The Portuguese player finally scored in the league after nine games when he scored against his old team in the 28th minute. Felix got a forward pass from Raphinha and got a lucky rebound off of Jose Maria Gimenez.
Then he had a one-on-one with Jan Oblak and hit a perfect chip over the Slovenian. Instead of doing what most people do, the 24-year-old celebrated his goal by standing on the advertising boards and doing Real Madrid’s famous Bellingham pose.
In the summer, Felix got into a public fight with his parent club. He wouldn’t train with them because he wanted to move to the Catalan team. Not long ago, though, Enrique Cerezo, the president of Atletico, said that Felix could play for the team again next season if Barcelona does not sign him forever. Felix also said that he hoped Cerezo wouldn’t celebrate if Felix scored, which the Portuguese player seems to have missed.
If the goal stands, Barcelona will pass Real Madrid to move into third place, just four points behind Real Madrid and Girona. They will play Girona next weekend in an attempt to get back into the title race.
