Joan Laporta states that Barcelona will be able to make standard player signings in January.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta is confident that the club will be able to sign players as usual when the January transfer window opens. The club faced difficulties acquiring players this summer, including their top target Nico Williams, due to ongoing financial challenges.

However, Laporta believes things will be different in January, as the club will revert to the 1:1 rule.

“Yes, we will be able to sign players normally in January because we plan to meet LaLiga’s 1:1 rule by then,” he stated at a press conference.

“When you mention signing players, we can indeed sign them; the issue lies with registration with the league. It will be easier once we comply with the 1:1 rule.

“For now, we are not focusing on acquiring any players because we are content with our current squad. However, Deco and his team are diligently working to assess our medium- and long-term needs.

I mentioned that we could make a significant signing, and that has indeed proven to be the case.”Barcelona did manage to sign Dani Olmo this summer, and the new acquisition has made a promising start to his return to the club.
