Jamie Redknapp: ‘Arsenal are on verge of really bad season’
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp believes Arsenal are on the brink of a really bad season. After losing 1-2 to Bournemouth, Gunners now face the serious risk of being overtaken by Manchester City and Newcastle in the remainder of the Premier League season.
Redknapp also notes that Arsenal could exit the Champions League this Wednesday if they fail to overturn a 0-1 home defeat to PSG in the first leg of the semi-final.
“Now Mikel Arteta will be terrified at the prospect of not only crashing out of Europe but also failing to finish second. With Manchester City showing weakness this season, Arsenal were the only team expected to capitalize,” Redknapp said.
“If they don’t finish second and don’t win a trophy, it will be a really bad season. We talked about how poor Manchester City have been, but they could still win a cup and finish second. That would be a decent season. Arsenal must finish second,” Jamie Redknapp added.
