I Was Wrong About Him, I Doubted His Worth, But Now He’s Proving Me Wrong

Simon Jordan previously predicted that Chelsea could finish in second place, and their impressive win over Aston Villa has strengthened his belief. With Manchester City struggling, Jordan feels Chelsea still have room for improvement. It’s not an outlandish statement, despite Enzo Maresca’s modest comments about his team.

Speaking on TalkSport with former Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill, both agreed that Chelsea’s strong form is not a temporary fluke, but rather evidence that the team is for real. They also supported Maresca’s decision to downplay expectations.

“Ask him again in March, if Chelsea are three points behind the leaders,” Jordan joked.

Jordan, who has supported Chelsea’s project from the start, admitted to having doubts about some of the players, including Enzo Fernandez. He now acknowledges the improvements in both the players and overall team structure, with Fernandez, in particular, starting to justify his high transfer fee.

“I don’t think they’ll win the league, but they’re certainly in a competitive position,” Jordan concluded.

With individual performances and team dynamics improving, it’s clear that Chelsea’s project is gaining momentum, and Jordan can take some pride in having backed them from the outset.
