Hansi Flick surprises Barcelona goalkeeper Szczesny with this decision before Mallorca match in La Liga tomorrow

Barcelona’s defeat to Las Palmas at Montjuïc set off alarm bells within the club and put the spotlight on several players.

Barcelona suffered their third league defeat of the season, having already lost to Osasuna and Real Sociedad, and then to Las Palmas the day before yesterday. They are now on the verge of losing the top spot in La Liga.

According to information from the Catalan newspaper “Sport”, one of the most prominent names highlighted was Iñaki Peña, who took over as first-choice goalkeeper after Marc-André ter Stegen was injured. However, Peña was unable to live up to the team’s expectations in protecting Barcelona’s goal.

The match against Las Palmas was a stark example of the lack of confidence in Peña’s performance. In a match where Las Palmas did not pose any real threat to Hansi Flick’s goal, the only two shots on target ended in two goals, raising doubts about Peña’s ability.

The newspaper added that German coach Hansi Flick decided to give Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny the opportunity to guard the Catalan team’s goal in tomorrow’s match against Real Mallorca. The Polish goalkeeper announced his readiness to defend Barcelona’s goal, and Flick hopes that the Pole will be the ideal solution to Barcelona’s goalkeeping problem.
