Hansi Flick does not hesitate to admit his mistakes, acknowledging that some of the decisions he made during the summer are now being reconsidered. While things are going well at Barcelona, as confirmed by the team’s impressive results so far, the German coach still believes there is room for improvement.
According to information from the Spanish newspaper “Sport”, Flick has admitted that letting go of a player who could have been very useful at this stage was a mistake.
The newspaper added that the player in question is Alex Valle, who performed excellently during pre-season and impressed in the friendly matches. He was expected to remain in the team but was instead loaned out to another club.
The report continued, stating that Flick was unable to guarantee Valle a regular starting role in the first team, so he chose to keep Gerard Martin and allowed the young Spanish player, who had several offers, to move to another team.
In the competitive Scottish Premier League, Valle has been able to play regularly, in addition to participating in the Champions League, a tournament in which he had not yet appeared with Barcelona.
After a short period of adaptation, Valle has now become an indispensable star in the Celtic squad. His performances have been outstanding, prompting Barcelona to closely monitor his progress. Valle has proven himself to be an influential player, and he continues to be closely watched at Camp Nou, where there is growing confidence in his potential.
Flick believes that Valle has the ideal physical and technical qualities to play for Barcelona and would be the perfect replacement for Alejandro Balde. As a result, the German coach plans to bring Valle back in 2025 after the completion of his loan in Scotland.
Previously, Joan Laporta and Deco were seriously considering signing a new left-back. However, after recent developments, they have decided to change their plans. Instead of signing a new player, they have decided to place their trust in Alex Valle, who will return to Barcelona in 2025.
