After a dismal 1-0 loss at the Emirates in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final matchup with Paris Saint-Germain, Wayne Rooney has urged Arsenal to approach the second game with more confidence and poise.
“For Arsenal, I was a bit disappointed with how they played, disappointed with the fans as well. The fans against Real Madrid really pushed the team. I thought tonight they were a bit subdued,” Rooney said.
Despite the setback, Rooney is hopeful Arsenal can still progress to the final.
“I hope Arsenal go on and win the competition, but they have to go in to the second leg with belief. They have to be patient, slow the game down, take the ball at the right times and be clinical,” Rooney stated.
