Cristiano Ronaldo gives an extra paycheck to the workers of the media outlet he denounced years ago

As is well known, in addition to being and having been a superstar on the pitch, Cristiano Ronaldo is also admired for his business acumen, his multitude of companies and collaborations with all kinds of brands makes the Portuguese footballer someone who is talked about every time he is immersed in a new project. The latest was teaming up with a Brazilian construction company to build a holiday skyscraper, but now he has wanted to try his hand in the media world.

The Al-Nassr player has also been attracted to the press and after being involved in businesses such as water, hair grafts, watches, fashion, hotels and sports centers, the media is a new motivation for the Portuguese. The purchase has been through Expressao Livre, a group of investors to which he belongs, of the company Cofina Media, which manages some Portuguese national newspapers such as Correio da Manha, Record or Jornal de Negocios.

The most interesting of all is that the former Manchester United player had some altercation with a television channel and a newspaper that belonged to this editorial group, specifically he sued them and made a boycott against them. The Al-Nassr player did not agree with the information published by the aforementioned newspaper, alleging that it created a bad atmosphere in the national team since the striker started playing with the national team.

Cristiano went to court

So many were the problems that he even went into legal suits against them, both in 2011 and 2015: “I have no respect for that newspaper because it is constantly inventing news, inventing controversies, inventing a bad relationship, a bad atmosphere in the national team. It has been going on since I started in the national team, constantly attacking the national team,” the Portuguese said in 2014.

One of the most famous altercations was when, in the middle of the Portuguese national team’s Euro 2016 training camp, Cristiano Ronaldo took the microphone from a journalist and threw it into a lake in the park where they were walking.

However, it seems that Cristiano has wanted to wipe the slate clean and this November 8 he wanted to thank the workers for all the work they do and has rewarded them with an extra pay of 1,250 euros: “In gratitude to all those who are part of this great company and who every day sweat the shirt for it,” he wrote in the email he sent them.
