Spanish press reports sparked a huge surprise regarding Barcelona’s refusal to move to Paris Saint-Germain, following in the footsteps of Brazilian Neymar, during the current summer transfer period of 2024.
Barcelona is seeking to strengthen its ranks and conclude several strong deals in order to return to the top of the podium in the new season.
The Spanish newspaper “Sport” revealed that player Neco Williams rejected a historic offer from Paris Saint-Germain and preferred to move to Barcelona during the upcoming summer transfer period of 2025 rather than move to Paris Saint-Germain.
The newspaper added that Barcelona is currently preparing the value of the release clause in Williams’ contract with Athletic Bilbao, which is worth 58 million euros.
The newspaper continued that Williams stated that the priority is always Barcelona’s offer, in order to reach an agreement related to the personal conditions in his contract, and obtain Bilbao’s approval to leave.
The Spanish club Barcelona announced, in an official statement, that it had signed a contract with coach Hansi Flick to coach the team, as it reached an agreement for the German to become the team’s coach until June 30, 2026.
