In a huge update, journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that Bayern Munich are ready to sell midfield mainstay Joshua Kimmich if the right offer comes along.
The 29-year-old German midfielder has been a permanent fixture in the team for years now but has had some problems with current manager Thomas Tuchel this season.
Even though Tuchel will not be in charge at Bayern next season, Kimmich’s contract with the club expires in 2025 and renewal talks have not progressed.
It has seemingly opened the doors for a potential sale in the summer, which comes as music to the ears of Barcelona.
More clubs in contention
It is no secret that Barcelona are great admirers of Kimmich and have been on his tails since last summer following Sergio Busquets’ exit.

However, Barcelona are not the only contender to sign Kimmich as per the report. Indeed, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, as well as the Blaugrana’s arch-rivals Real Madrid are in consideration for his signing.
In fact, some of the aforementioned clubs have even established contact with the German midfielder’s camp about a possible transfer.
Three teams not in race
At the same time, the report also highlights that three teams – PSG, Chelsea, and Manchester United are not in the picture as far as the race for Kimmich is concerned.
The three clubs are not seen as options by the midfield general.
But with top teams like Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City, and Real Madrid also in contention, Barcelona could find it tricky to acquire his services, more so considering their financial situation.
