It was said that Robert Lewandowski was offered €60m (£50m) a year to leave Barcelona during the summer transfer window. However, the experienced scorer made it clear that he did not want to leave Camp Nou.
After leaving Bayern Munich in July 2022, the 36-year-old moved to Barcelona. He has played 100 times for the Catalan team, hitting 63 goals and setting up 19 others.
Lewandowski scored 26 goals and set up 9 others in 49 games across all categories last season, but there was some talk about his future earlier this year.
Reports said that Barcelona were willing to sell the Poland international because his current contract has two years left and a chance for an extra year.
Carrusel Deportivo says that an unknown Saudi Arabian company offered Lewandowski a €60m (£50m) a year salary, but he quickly turned down the hugely lucrative offer.
Lewandowski “rejected” a sweet deal to move to Saudi Arabia
Early in the new season, Lewandowski has been in great shape for Hansi Flick’s team. He has scored four goals and set up two others in five La Liga games.
People think that the experienced scorer wants to move to Saudi Arabia before the end of his career. At the top level, he is still going strong, though.
Last month, Flick told DAZN, “I know Robert (Lewandowski) very well, and I do not think he is back to form because that is how I have always seen him as a player.”
“He makes me happy because it is not just the goals he scores; it is also how hard he works with the team and how dedicated he is to pressing high and very effectively.”
“In every way, he is 100%. He works out like a pro and takes it very seriously. He can deal with stress, and we saw that after the second-half equalizer. “What a great player.”
