Barcelona puts the team’s star up for sale in an unexpected surprise

Barcelona continues its efforts and arrangements before the current summer transfer window closes in order to reach the required financial balance that allows the team to register new deals and contracts.
It is noteworthy that Barcelona has given up on Ilkay Gundogan in order to reduce the team’s high salary scale and allow the opportunity to register new arrival Dani Olmo.

In a surprising move, Barcelona has expressed its readiness to give up the team’s Dutch star Frenkie de Jong, according to the Spanish newspaper “El Nacional”. The newspaper reported that Barcelona has offered De Jong for sale to Manchester United and several other European clubs, with a price set between 35 and 40 million euros only.

This move comes in light of the Catalan club’s desire to get rid of De Jong’s high salary, as the player receives about 600 thousand pounds sterling per week. The club believes that this financial burden weighs heavily on it, especially in light of the economic challenges it faces.
Despite the distinguished performance that De Jong has provided with Barcelona, the club seems determined to reduce its expenses and get rid of player contracts with high salaries. Reports suggest that Manchester United, who have shown interest in De Jong on several previous occasions, could be the player’s next destination.
