Barça has been in “dialogue” with Swedish club Djurgarden about signing young star Lucas Bergvall, according to the club’s sporting director.
The 17-year-old Swedish player has been mentioned with Barcelona, but Manchester United, Inter, Rennes, and other teams are also said to be keeping an eye on him. The Swedish Under-21 international has been in touch with the Spanish giants, according to Andersson. However, he added that there is “not a negotiation yet.”
He told the Swedish newspaper Fotbollskanalen, “Yes, I can confirm that we have been in touch and talking with Barcelona.” But there isn’t yet a deal. Barcelona was talked to last week, but we haven’t heard from them this week.
Bergvall is thought to be one of Sweden’s best young players, and a move to the powerful Barcelona would support that idea. He still has 18 months left on his deal, and if he does leave, the Swedish team will try to get a good price for him. But if a club like Barcelona comes along, it might be too good to pass up.
Last year, the teen got two goals in 25 games. He moved from IF Brommapojkarna to Djurgarden in 2023 and now plays with his 19-year-old brother Theo Bergvall.
