Barcelona have had to cope without Ronald Araujo this season after the defender underwent hamstring surgery in July.
The defender was ruled out for around four months at the time but is now in the “final stretch” of his recovery and closing in on a comeback, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Barcelona think Araujo is now six weeks away from being ready to play again and have pencilled in a couple of fixtures as a potential date for him to reappear.
The Catalans are thinking about either the clash with Celta Vigo at Balaidos on 23 November or in the Champions League clash against Brest on November 26.
Araujo’s return will be a big boost for Hansi Flick who has also been without Andreas Christensen due to injury, while Eric Garcia seems to have been moved into midfield.
Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez have emerged as Flick’s first choice central defensive partnership so far this season, but Araujo will be hoping for a spot back in the XI when he’s fully fit again.
