Barcelona, La Liga reach agreement over Gavi’s first-team registration, legal proceedings abandoned

A report from RAC1 indicates that Barcelona and La Liga have come to an agreement with the full registration of the teenage midfielder Gavi as a member of the first-team squad. In the course of a legal battle, the two parties have come to the conclusion that they will no longer pursue the subject.

It was anticipated that Gavi would be registered in the first team in January of the previous year; however, Barcelona’s precarious financial situation compelled them to postpone the progress of the player. Gavi is now rehabilitating from an anterior cruciate ligament injury that he sustained while serving Spain on international service.

The full account of events

A disagreement about Gavi’s registration has been going on between Barcelona and La Liga since January of the previous year. This ruling was reversed a few months later, despite the fact that the court had first given permission for him to be registered as a member of the first team while wearing the number six jersey.

The National Court issued a ruling in favor of Barcelona in June, which resulted in Gavi being reinstated to the first squad for the beginning of the following season. An further appeal against the ruling was submitted by La Liga notwithstanding this fact.

Despite the fact that a hearing was originally planned to take place on July 20, it was ultimately postponed, which resulted in Gavi’s position at Barcelona being intact.

There were substantial repercussions that flowed from the conclusion of the subsequent hearing, which is when Justice would issue a final decision.

Gavi’s condition would have remained unchanged if the verdict had been in favor of Barcelona throughout the whole process. On the other side, if La Liga had been victorious, the midfielder would have been eligible for a deal with the young squad.

Currently, after a legal struggle that lasted for a whole year, Barcelona and La Liga have reached a compromise and settled their disputes. After Gavi has recovered from his injury, he is in a position to make a return as a fully restored member of the first-team squad, continuing to wear the No. 6 jersey.

In the event that the midfielder had been in good health, the situation may have been handled in January. Despite this, Barcelona’s financial situation would have been much more precarious if they had allowed him to play for the first team despite the fact that he was wounded.
