Viktor Gyökeres, the Swedish striker, is currently one of the most in-form forwards in the world. He has scored 16 goals in just 11 Liga Portugal matches this season, along with 5 goals in 4 Champions League appearances.
Gyökeres is valued at €70 million, and Sporting CP is likely to demand even more. However, it appears Barcelona has found a way to reduce the price.
According to Diario SPORT, Barcelona is considering offering Sporting full ownership of Francisco Trincão in exchange for a reduced fee for Gyökeres. Trincão, who played for Barcelona in the 2020/21 season, was later loaned out to Wolverhampton and Sporting.
This summer, Sporting acquired 50% of Trincão’s rights for €7 million, and the winger has become a key player for the team this season. Given his recent form and interest from clubs like Manchester City and Bayern Munich, Trincão’s rights could be a valuable bargaining chip for Barcelona in negotiations for Gyökeres.
