Barcelona considering a January exit for €25m player

Last summer, Ansu Fati returned to FC Barcelona from his year-long loan at Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League. With the change in management at the Blaugrana club, the La Masia graduate was looking forward to getting an important position in the squad by impressing the new coach, Hansi Flick.

However, after impressing in a few training sessions, he suffered an injury that kept him from participating in the pre-season tour of the USA and also from participating in the first few games of the season with the Blaugranes.

As things stand, he is currently the attacker who stands lowest in the Barcelona pecking order, and things are not looking very good for him. He has only played 28 minutes up to now, and his situation is also not expected to improve even this month as even Pau Victor is ahead of him in Flick’s plans.

In such circumstances, SPORT reports that Barcelona now believe that the best way forward for Fati would be to find a new team, so he can get regular minutes on the pitch and get back into a proper rhythm. Thus, the Blaugranes will try to find a new club for him in January. However, this move will be undertaken only if they return to the 1:1 status.

This is not to say that Barcelona are giving up on Ansu. On the contrary, they fully support the forward and only want to get greater playing time, something that seems impossible for him in this team.

For this purpose, there is already a summit planned with his agent, Jorge Mendes. There are several clubs in Spain interested in the €25m-rated Spaniard and will be willing to take him on loan, but the decision to move will ultimately lie with Fati himself.

A final decision in this regard will be taken in November, and in addition to these sporting factors, some economic factors will also be considered as Flick will not want to lose any more players if Barcelona are unable to bring new players to replace them.
