The English team Liverpool increased the pain of its European counterpart and rival, Real Madrid, by defeating them 2-0 on Wednesday evening in the fifth round of the group stage in the Champions League. As a result, the Italian Carlo Ancelotti’s team suffered its third defeat in the competition.
In light of the result, Liverpool regained the top spot with 15 points, while Real Madrid remained with 6 points, in 24th place.
According to information from the Spanish newspaper “Defensa Central,” the Italian coach of Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti, is unprecedentedly angry with the heavy defeat suffered by his team against Liverpool.
The newspaper added that Ancelotti criticized the Real Madrid duo, Kylian Mbappé and his compatriot Ferland Mendy, holding them responsible for the loss against Liverpool due to the disastrous performances from both players in tonight’s match.
The newspaper also indicated that Ancelotti did not stop there; he continued shouting at the Moroccan star, Ibrahim Diaz, and threatened to return him to the bench due to his poor performance tonight, despite having given him a starting place in the team’s lineup.
Ancelotti does not trust the duo Arda Güler and Ibrahim Diaz as key players, and once the injured players return, he will make an immediate decision to send them back to the bench.
In an unexpected development, the president of Real Madrid went down to the locker room immediately after the match ended, reacting angrily towards Ancelotti and expressing his dissatisfaction with the complexity of Real Madrid’s position in the European competition standings.
Perez is upset about Ferran Garcia sitting on the bench and starting with Ferland Mendy, despite the great performance the Spanish player showed in the last match against Leganes in La Liga.
The newspaper added that Perez threatened Ancelotti with dismissal and expulsion from the team if Real Madrid stumbles in any upcoming match in the Champions League.
The newspaper concluded by reporting that Perez scolded the French player Kylian Mbappé for his poor performance and for missing a penalty that could have brought the team back into the match, in addition to his overall poor showing throughout the game.
Perez will not be patient with Mbappé for long, and told him to quickly return to his best form or he will consider getting rid of him in the next summer transfer window.
