Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti announced the renewal of the contract of one of Real Madrid’s players, although the club has not officially announced the matter.
Ancelotti announced this during the preparatory press conference for the match against Deportivo Alaves tomorrow, as part of the sixth round of La Liga.
Ancelotti received a question from a journalist, which read: Mendy’s situation is curious: sometimes he doesn’t even go with France, but for you he is “the best in the world defensively”. What do you think of this paradox?
“Here we are happy with him, he has already renewed his contract,” replied the Italian coach. “He is in very good shape. His defensive level is very high. Maybe it is the same with the ball… It does not mean that he has difficulties, but I do not ask him to do the job that another type of full-back does.”
“We have a very strong left winger (Vinicius), so there is no need to ask him too much offensively. He can do it, if we have a winger who plays a lot inside, but we haven’t asked him to do that. It is better for him to stay back, because sometimes he has to work on covering.
