Barcelona star expected to miss some weeks after fresh injury blow

An insight into the extent of the injury suffered by Barcelona star Ferran Torres has on Sunday been provided.

Frontman Ferran, for his part, was forced into a premature departure from Barcelona’s latest outing, this evening.

The Blaugrana are currently locked in action with Deportivo Alavés, hopeful of heading into the October international break boasting a three-point advantage atop the Spanish top-flight table.

And, as things stand at Mendizorroza, an eighth win from nine to open the La Liga campaign is precisely what Hansi Flick’s troops are headed towards.

Robert Lewandowski has proven himself the star of the show, notching all three of his side’s goals inside 32 minutes.

As alluded to above, though, on an altogether positive evening’s work for one member of Barcelona’s frontline, another endured an outing to forget.

Inside the three-minute mark on Sunday, Ferran Torres was forced to limp out of the action, owing to a muscular concern.

And, if the early word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then Ferran is facing up to an incoming spell on the sidelines as a result.

As per a report from Blaugrana insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS:

‘The first assessments speak of an injury to the femoral biceps that will prevent him from travelling with the Spanish national team, since the estimated time of absence will be about three weeks.’
