Barcelona midfielder Pedri has expressed his frustration after his side’s 4-2 defeat to Osasuna in La Liga. The young star criticized the team’s slow start and alleged a foul on an Osasuna player before their second goal. Pedri also insisted that Lamine Yamal was clearly fouled in the box, leading to a missed penalty call.
Despite the defeat, Pedri remains focused on Barcelona’s upcoming Champions League match, emphasizing the importance of securing a win at home.
“We didn’t start the match well,” Pedri told reporters after the game. “It’s normal that there is rotation. We play several matches.”
The Barcelona midfielder also took issue with the refereeing decisions in the game. “There was a foul on an Osasuna player before the second goal, he stepped on our player’s foot before the goal,” Pedri claimed.
Pedri was particularly critical of the decision not to award Barcelona a penalty for a foul on Lamine Yamal. “There was a very clear penalty for Lamine Yamal,” he said.
Despite the defeat, Pedri remains optimistic about Barcelona’s chances in the Champions League. “We are now thinking about the next Champions League match, we should win our first CL match at home,” he added.
Barcelona’s defeat to Osasuna is a major setback for their La Liga title aspirations. The team will need to regroup and bounce back quickly if they are to remain competitive in both domestic and European competitions.
