Hansi Flick’s reaction to 16-year-old Toni Fernandez climbing over his seat with dirty boots is going viral

In one of the most wholesome moments of the weekend, La Masia star Toni Fernandez was stared down by Hansi Flick after he stepped on his chair during Barcelona’s 5-1 win over Villarreal.

Fernandez, considered one of Barcelona’s most promising youth talents, recently made history by becoming the youngest player to score for their reserve team. At just 16 years, one month, and 24 days old, the young forward scored a stunning overhead kick in a 3-0 victory over Ourense, generating significant buzz about his potential.

Earlier this month, both Fernandez and his cousin, Guille, received calls to join the squad for a Champions League match against AS Monaco due to an injury to summer signing Dani Olmo.

In his pre-match press conference, Flick discussed the decision to include the La Masia youngsters. “We have two cousins, both 16 years old. I can say they are ready for the next step and to elevate their performance. That is our goal. We must continue this way,” he stated.

Flick highlighted their impressive development, noting, “La Masia does an excellent job in nurturing players. When we need someone from La Masia, we know they possess the quality and are at the right level.”

He added, “Toni and Guille are present at every training session and performing very well. I have no doubt they will excel when given the chance.”

Flick’s confidence in the pair is clear, as both Toni and Guille were included in Barcelona’s squad for their recent trip to Villarreal, which they won with goals from Robert Lewandowski (2), Pablo Torre, and Raphinha (2).

Although they haven’t yet made their first-team debuts, Toni Fernandez had a humorous moment with Flick when he climbed onto his chair before kick-off. Flick caught the young player in the act and, noticing the dirt on his seat, engaged in a lighthearted exchange.

Fans on social media reacted with amusement to the incident, showcasing their support for the young talents.

One fan remarked, “His life flashed before his eyes,” while another noted, “Nah, this is funny. He looks like he’s having a blast with the young roster, and they seem to love him.”

A third commented, “Flick seems to be building strong relationships with these young players. I didn’t expect that given how cold he seemed as Bayern’s manager.”

Another fan said, “I love the energy at Barcelona right now,” and someone else added, “They respect him so much. He definitely won’t do that again.”
