Barcelona has reportedly told one of their star players that he should leave, as they plan to sell him during the summer transfer window. The club intends to replace him with a winger from Napoli.

Barcelona is reportedly considering the sale of Brazilian forward Raphinha for €55 million in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo indicates that the club is willing to sell Raphinha for the same price they paid Leeds United for him in 2022.

Despite having a contract with Barcelona until 2027, Raphinha is said to be reluctant to leave this summer, making it more difficult for the club to entertain offers for him.

Raphinha’s recent performances have notably improved, with four goals and three assists in his last six games across all competitions.

This season, he has contributed nine goals and 12 assists in 35 matches, highlighting his significance to the team. Nevertheless, Barcelona is considering a major squad overhaul following a disappointing season and a lack of trophies.

The club’s financial situation, strained by poor performances, will influence their summer transfer activity.

Historically, winning titles has been a key revenue source for Barcelona, but recent struggles have made it challenging to secure major signings without selling players.

Barcelona’s hopes for La Liga were dashed after a 4-2 loss to Girona, and they risk missing out on Supercopa de España qualification if they don’t secure a second-place league finish, leading to substantial financial losses.

Failures in other competitions, including the Champions League, Supercopa de España, and Copa del Rey, have worsened their financial troubles. Missing out on the 2025 Club World Cup has further deprived them of a significant financial boost.

As a result, despite interest in high-profile players like Bernardo Silva, Joshua Kimmich, Martin Zubimendi, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Barcelona may face challenges in making major signings in the next transfer window.

To ease their financial strain, the club is reportedly open to offers for key players such as Ronald Araujo, Frenkie De Jong, and Jules Kounde. There is also speculation about a potential sale of Robert Lewandowski, despite his wish to stay with the team.

The potential sale of Raphinha reflects Barcelona’s broader strategy to balance their finances and fund new acquisitions. Although Raphinha has proven valuable on the field, the club’s financial realities require tough decisions.

The possibility of selling other high-value players highlights the severity of Barcelona’s economic issues. With significant financial pressure and the need to strengthen their squad, Barcelona’s management faces a challenging task in the transfer market.
