Barcelona reach agreement with Dani Olmo on contract until 2030

The newspaper ‘Sport’ and Fabrizio Romano have reported two different proposals from Barcelona to Leipzig for Dani Olmo. ‘Sport’ estimates Barcelona’s offer to be approximately 50 million euros with an additional 15 million in variables, but notes that Leipzig will likely reject it due to their demand for 55 million guaranteed. Conversely, Romano claims the offer includes the 55 million plus an additional 3 to 4 million euros in add-ons.

Thursday has been a busy day for negotiations between Barcelona and Leipzig regarding Dani Olmo. After ‘Mundo Deportivo’ reported that the deal was nearly finalized with a fixed fee of 47 million euros plus 3 million and 10 million in add-ons, ‘Sport’ indicates that such an offer would be rejected. Romano provides details of another proposal that could meet Leipzig’s expectations.

According to Toni Juanmarti from the second Catalan newspaper, Leipzig is likely to reject the terms proposed by Joan Laporta’s board, as they are seeking a guaranteed 55 million euros. Romano confirms that Barcelona has offered this amount with an additional 4 million in straightforward add-ons and 3 million in more challenging add-ons.

Romano also mentions that an agreement is in place with Olmo to sign until June 30, 2030, and that the player is eager to join Hansi Flick’s team. Given his previous training at La Masia and Espanyol, he is familiar with the city.

‘Sport’ highlights that the main issue with Barcelona’s offer is not just the amount falling short of 55 million but also that the payment is proposed to be delayed for about a year.
