A man who used to play defense for La Liga giants Barcelona is ready to do what he can financially to make sure he can return to the club this summer.
Diario Sport says that player is João Cancelo.
Full-back It’s no secret that Cancelo spent last season on loan in Barcelona from Manchester City.
People in charge at Camp Nou were apparently very happy with the Portuguese player’s work during the season, even though he made a number of mistakes that got a lot of attention near the end.
Overall, that seems like it will be enough to get Cancelo a move back to Barcelona.
Sport says that the player, the head coach Hansi Flick, and everyone else at the Blaugrana all want the same thing: to play together again in 2024–25.
Cancelo is so sure of this that he is willing to cut his pay to proof it.
As a result, Deco and his board of directors have sped up the process to bring the versatile defender back “for a season-long loan with a required buy option if certain conditions are met.”
The 30-year-old player won’t move anywhere else, so Manchester City doesn’t have much of a choice. They are likely to approve the deal soon.
