Press reports revealed that FC Barcelona is currently unable to register new coach Hansi Flick and members of his technical staff, due to the financial crisis and the rules of financial fair play.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, Barcelona’s board of directors is still looking for money around the clock, noting that “at the present time there is no space to register the new coach Hansi Flick and his crew. In fact, Xavi Hernandez and his assistants were registered for last season, not for the 2024 season.” -25.
Barcelona is waiting to obtain 100 million euros corresponding to the sale of 49% of the shares of the company “Barca Media”, which has not yet been collected (the 40 that “Libro” left unpaid last year, and the corresponding 60 for this year). The club is also looking to close the agreement with Nike which would put an additional €100 million into the contract’s signing bonus.
The newspaper added that these economic operations are directly linked to the sporting season, because by relying on them, Barcelona will be able to improve its current situation to respond to the conditions of fair play.
