Lionel Messi, a superstar for Barcelona, has made the admission that when he first joined at the club, everything seemed so strange to him. On the other hand, the club’s willingness to assist him with all of the little matters made a difference in his overall experience.
Messi came to Barcelona for the first time in the year 2000; however, due to transfer considerations, he did not have the opportunity to play with the young squad until the year 2002. On the other hand, after being included in the roster of the young team, he quickly started practicing with the adult team.
Messi struggled to acclimate to his new environment right after he arrived in Catalonia. Because of the tension, he was unable to socialize with his teammates even while he was on the field with them. This was the first time that he had not played football for a significant amount of time.
In the end, the young Messi began to experience homesickness; nevertheless, Barcelona made certain that he soon felt at ease in his new environment.
“When I joined Barcelona, it was a bit weird at first, but from the moment I arrived at the Barca facilities and they gave me clothes to train in, that small gesture made a big difference for me,” said the Barcelona icon during one of the interviews in his new documentary, The Rise of A icon. The documentary is about the rise of a legend.

Celia Cuccittini, Messi’s mother, had to take note of his artistic achievement in a totally different way than the rest of the world, despite the fact that the whole world has watched Messi’s magic over the last two decades.
Although the parents of the football player were aware from the beginning that their son, Leo, has a unique skill, they were nonetheless tasked with devising strategies to prevent him from playing football on a regular basis. While Celia was explaining how she forced him to do his schoolwork, she stated,
It was often claimed by his friends that he was unique and that he had something that was exceptional. Then, as he matured, it became very clear that he was a prodigy when it came to the ball.
It was necessary for me to scare him with the fact that he would not be allowed to attend training sessions if he did not complete his schoolwork. “It was the most severe punishment he could have received,” she stated.
