Barcelona’s 17-year-old defender Pau Cubarsí recently revealed who he thinks is the best player in the world during an interview with SPORT. Surprisingly, the player he named doesn’t even play for Barcelona. When asked about his choice, Cubarsí confidently stated, “Rodri.”
For the young Spanish defender, Manchester City’s midfield powerhouse, Rodri, is currently the top player globally. Following an outstanding season for both his club and country, Rodri has become a favorite for the upcoming Ballon d’Or, making Cubarsí’s choice unsurprising.
Unfortunately, Rodri is currently sidelined due to an ACL injury, meaning he will miss the rest of the season, leaving a significant void for both Manchester City and the Spanish national team.
In the same interview, Cubarsí also discussed other football-related topics, including naming the Barcelona player who excels in one-on-one situations with the goalkeeper.
