Unrivaled’s second season may already be underway, but the fast-growing 3-on-3 league continues to fine-tune its talent pipeline. On Wednesday, league officials announced the signing of former WNBA guard Kiana Williams to the Unrivaled development pool, expanding that group to seven players. The move reinforces Unrivaled’s commitment to depth and flexibility as the season progresses.
Williams joins a development group that already features several notable young talents and former WNBA contributors. The pool includes Chicago Sky guard Hailey Van Lith, Dallas Wings guards Aziaha James and Haley Jones, Washington Mystics forward Emily Engstler, Golden State Valkyries forward Laeticia Amihere, and Indiana Fever center Makayla Timpson. While Unrivaled’s active rosters are capped at 48 players, the development pool serves as an immediate reserve in the event of injuries or roster adjustments.
During the 2025 WNBA season, Williams spent time with the Phoenix Mercury, appearing in 11 games and averaging 4.1 points in just under 10 minutes per contest. Her season was marked by roster uncertainty, as Phoenix initially signed her to an unprotected contract in late June before waiving her in July to create cap flexibility. She later returned on a pair of seven-day deals and ultimately secured a rest-of-season contract in August.
Originally selected 18th overall in the 2021 WNBA Draft by the Seattle Storm, Williams has carved out a professional career that includes stints with the Storm, Connecticut Sun, and Mercury. Prior to the WNBA, she was a standout point guard at Stanford, where she played a key role in the program’s 2021 national championship run—a title that held special significance as it was won in her hometown of San Antonio.
At just 26 years old, Williams now adds Unrivaled experience to her résumé while preparing for the next chapter of her career. She has already signed with Turkish Super League club Botaş SK for the 2025–26 season, making her time in Unrivaled both an opportunity to stay game-ready and a platform to reassert her value on a growing international stage.
