Kylian Mbappe’s challenges away from the football pitch continue to mount, adding further strain to an already demanding period in his career. The Real Madrid forward has recently been managing physical issues that have disrupted his momentum, and now his off-field troubles have taken a serious turn. These developments are beginning to affect not just his professional focus, but also his personal stability.
Reports from France indicate that Mbappe has suffered a significant setback in his long-running legal dispute with Paris Saint-Germain. The latest ruling, delivered by the Paris Court of Appeal, went decisively against the French international. The court rejected Mbappe’s attempt to overturn earlier measures related to precautionary seizures placed on PSG, dealing a fresh blow to his legal campaign against his former club.
Earlier in the year, PSG had already secured a crucial victory when a court annulled a seizure order involving €55 million from the club’s accounts. That decision, handed down in May, marked a turning point in the case and weakened Mbappe’s position considerably. Determined to challenge the outcome, the Real Madrid star lodged an appeal in hopes of reviving the claim, but that effort has now been firmly dismissed by the appellate court.
The situation worsened further with an additional ruling from the same court. Beyond rejecting his appeal, the judges ordered Mbappe to pay PSG’s legal expenses, including a €3,000 fine. The court cited an abuse of process in its decision, adding financial and symbolic weight to what has become an increasingly costly dispute for the player.
Despite these setbacks, the legal battle is far from concluded. Both parties are scheduled to appear before the Labour Court on December 16, following earlier proceedings in which a verdict was postponed. A final decision is expected after that hearing and could carry major financial implications. At the core of the conflict are rival claims involving enormous sums, all tied to Mbappe’s dramatic and controversial exit from PSG to join Real Madrid.
