Kyle Walker is expected to arrive in Italy on Tuesday ahead of his move from Man City to AC Milan

Kyle Walker is scheduled to arrive in Italy on Tuesday before AC Milan formally announces his departure from Manchester City.

Before agreeing to a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Serie A team, the 34-year-old has been negotiating to leave City on a free transfer.

Walker, who is regarded as the greatest right back in league history, has had a challenging season with the champions and seen a discernible decline in form.

He made a public declaration that he intended to leave the Etihad during his team’s mid-season downturn.

The agreement will prevent Milan from acquiring Marcus Rashford or any other British player this transfer window.

Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona are still interested in the Manchester United attacker, while Napoli has thought about an approach.

Joao Felix of Chelsea is one of Milan’s other possible targets.

Felix spent the second half of the 2022–2023 season on loan at Stamford Bridge before joining Chelsea for £42.7 million in August from Atletico Madrid.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was quite enthusiastic in his evaluation of the English right back on Saturday, confirming AC Milan’s interest in Walker.

Telegraph: Milan 'confident' of securing wantaway Man City captain Walker

Before Saturday’s loss to Juventus, the renowned former Sweden and Manchester United striker told DAZN, “Everyone knows that Walker is a great player, he did great things at City.”

“There is a lot of interest when someone like him is up for sale.” Because he is strong, a leader, and dominant in the dressing room, it doesn’t conflict with our concept. We are now determining whether it is feasible.

“We have daily conversations with (manager) Sergio Conceicao to learn about his preferences and dislikes.”

We are working today because we know what is required. The group is powerful. What is required? It’s best not to say it in the transfer market because the more I say it, the more it costs.
