Unrivaled’s second season is in full swing, and the league continues to expand its talent pool. Former WNBA guard Kiana Williams has officially signed with the league’s development roster, giving fans another familiar name to watch as the 3-on-3 competition heats up. While she is contracted for the 2025–26 season with Turkey’s Botaş SK, Williams will first make an appearance in Unrivaled, providing a new boost to the league’s rising talent.
Williams joins an elite group of players in the Unrivaled development pool, which currently includes Chicago Sky guard Hailey Van Lith, Dallas Wings guards Aziaha James and Haley Jones, Washington Mystics forward Emily Engstler, Golden State Valkyries forward Laeticia Amihere, and Indiana Fever big Makayla Timpson. While the official rosters hold 48 players, the development pool serves as a flexible reserve, ready to step in if injuries or roster adjustments occur.
The 26-year-old guard began the 2025 WNBA season with the Phoenix Mercury, appearing in 11 games and averaging 4.1 points in just under 10 minutes per contest. Phoenix initially signed her to an unprotected contract mid-season, waived her to free up roster space, and later offered two short-term seven-day contracts before re-signing her for the remainder of the season.
Williams’ professional journey began when she was drafted 18th overall in 2021 by the Seattle Storm, and she has since had stops with the Connecticut Sun, a return to Seattle, and then Phoenix. Known for her sharp shooting and strong court vision, she quickly became a reliable option off the bench and a respected presence on any roster.
Before turning professional, Williams was a standout at Stanford University, where she led the Cardinal to the national title in 2021. That championship win came in her hometown of San Antonio, Texas, and cemented her reputation as a clutch performer and leader. Her addition to the Unrivaled development pool gives fans another reason to tune in, as the league continues to showcase some of the most exciting talent in women’s basketball.
