Having No Place at Barça, He Leaves: Laporta Knows and a Sale for 7 Million is Coming

Barcelona can keep earning money from players for whom it holds a percentage of the sale

FC Barcelona can make money without lifting a finger. In a moment of great need, an opportunity has arisen that could fill the club coffers with millions. Specifically, the money would come from Roma, which has shown interest in acquiring a former youth player: Mika Mármol. Barça still retains 50% of his future sale and it seems the deal is serious.

Mármol’s clause with Las Palmas is 10 million euros, although Roma’s initial proposal would be for a lower amountLa Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed that the Italian team is preparing an offer of 7 million euros to acquire Mika Mármol. If this deal goes through, Barça would receive half of the final amount.

This means that, if Las Palmas accepts the 7 million offer for Mika Mármol, Barça would directly receive 3.5 “rocks”. All this could be done without lifting a finger. Laporta remains alert to this possibility, as the Spanish defender has attracted the interest of other clubs like Girona, Betis, or Como.

Not Just Mika Mármol: Laporta Could Earn Another 34 Million

In recent years, Barça has reserved the possibility of continuing earning money from the sales of its younger players. It seems that in January there will be two deals that will help them continue to earn millions, although they aren’t yet settled. The first is Óscar Mingueza, whose clause is 20 million euros and will leave Celta in the coming weeks.

Mingueza won’t return to Barça because his destination seems already set: RB Leipzig. Reports indicate that the Germans will pay his clause in the coming weeks. Of these 20 million euros, Barça will directly receive 10 in its coffers without lifting a finger. The possibility of bringing him back was available but hasn’t been seriously considered at any point by the team led by Laporta.

As if the 10 million to be received for Óscar Mingueza weren’t enough, there’s another deal in progress that could financially benefit FC Barcelona.

Liverpool has decided to firmly bet on Nico González after being unable to sign Zubimendi. The son of Fran, a legendary player of Super Dépor, stood out in Barça’s youth academy. He appeared in the first team alongside Gavi in 2023. Xavi was the one who gave him the opportunity.

Porto has set Nico’s release price at 60 million euros and Liverpool is willing to pay that amount. If the open secret circulating around Anfield is confirmed, Barça would receive 24 million from the deal. It would be unexpected money that would cover many gaps in Joan Laporta’s accounting.

The 10 million received for Óscar Mingueza could be joined by another 24 for Nico González. Plus the 3.5 million euros for Mika Mármol. All this could be done without Laporta having to lift a finger.
