Deco has reportedly given the green light to pursue Monaco’s Brazilian right-back.

Barcelona’s pursuit of Vanderson shows their continued effort to build a more dynamic and balanced squad, especially in the right-back position. Koundé has done a solid job there, but it’s clear he prefers playing as a center-back, and Héctor Fort is still young and developing. Vanderson, with his attacking instincts and defensive solidity, seems like a logical fit—especially if Deco has been tracking him since his Gremio days.

The comparison to Dani Alves is interesting, though expectations should be tempered. Alves was a generational talent who played a unique role in Barça’s system under Guardiola and beyond. Vanderson has potential, but whether he can reach that level remains to be seen.

The financial aspect could be a challenge. With Monaco demanding over €30 million and Premier League clubs circling, Barça’s financial limitations might complicate things. They’ll need to negotiate carefully or offload some players to make room for this move.

What do you think—should Barcelona prioritize Vanderson, or should they look elsewhere for a right-back solution?
