After a quiet January transfer window, where the focus was on renewing players, FC Barcelona have firm plans to strengthen the squad in the summer.
A new forward is being sought, with names like Alexander Isak and Rafael Leao being touted as potential targets. A new right-back is also on the table as cover for Jules Kounde.
Barcelona need to generate revenue
According to Mundo Deportivo, in order to strengthen their attacking options for next season, FC Barcelona must improve their financial situation before the summer transfer window.
Despite already being able to operate under La Liga’s 1:1 rule since January 3 – following the approval of a €28 million payment from investors for a 30-year concession on 475 VIP seats at Spotify Camp Nou – the club still needs to generate additional financial flexibility.
Barcelona must either bring in revenue or reduce wages to reinvest in new signings. Essentially, the Blaugrana can reinvest whatever income they generate in bringing in new players.
Player sales key

As such, Barcelona’s ability to sign reinforcements will depend on player departures.
Ansu Fati, who has a high salary, is a prime candidate to leave. Additionally, the surplus of centre-backs, especially if Jonathan Tah arrives, raises questions about the futures of Andreas Christensen and Ronald Araujo.
While Barcelona intend to keep Araujo, they would be open to discussions if he were to request a transfer. As for ChristensenI I , the Catalans are said to be open to offers, with his contract expiring in 2026.
Inaki Pena’s future remains uncertain following his recent demotion. Frenkie de Jong would provide significant financial relief if he were to leave – though, at the moment, the Dutch midfielder is not considering an exit.
